Items to discuss when meeting with a potential child care provider:

  • How an illness will be handled?

  • What you are responsible for?

  • How much the provider charges?

  • Whether the provider has a contract?

  • Whether the provider has an open-door policy?

  • Who to reach in an emergency?

  • Whether the facility complies with licensing regulations?

  • Emergency evacuation plan?

  • What the child’s day will be like?

  • Names of other parents using care?

  • Other references?

  • Any special needs of your child?
